I’ve recently moved to Chicago and I’d like to find a local garage even in the suburbs to take my car to, it’s 6 years old its got pretty high mileage 117,000 had a couple of knocks so I don’t really want to have to take it back to the dealership for their overinflated prices .

I’m just looking for a shop that does good work for a good price.

I took it to a shop and they said it was converted to R134. I am confused can you put r134 into an r12 system, I heard you can get autozone to run a scan on it for free.Those guys I heard are awesome diagnosticians. They told me I can buy a conversion kit or something to convert it for 15 dollars and re-charge it myself with a kit for 20.00. Others on this site have seemed to have had luck with this so please help me if you can. Thank You.

One week ago I had the heating core replaced, and they had to take apart the dashboard, and steering wheel mount, and also cut some wires in order to get to the heating core. The mechanic shop that did this is so shady. I don’t want those people touching my car again! Anyway, before this was done, I never had to press the gas for the car to start. Now I have to give a lot. How is this related to the service that was done or is it coincidence, and how can it be fixed?
