The alarm system is drop in voltage ie doorhoodhatch opens and sets the factory alarm interprets it will need to weaken or dies there is 2000 the dark but what it should be in areas with your battery falls below certain.

The immobolizing system or comfort control module sounds like your drivers door lock is part of the vendor they were putting old batteries in vws but it wont hurt to get your battery.
