How do golf businesses survive where it snows in the winter?

It seems like they would be cutting their profits significantly by being unable to function in the snow. I am not even talking about courses but ranges and pro shops (pro shops can still sell clubs a bit but their business must plummet during the winter). I am specifically talking about New England.
