Question about my air conditioner in 2001 VW Golf GLS?

I’ve had my golf for almost 2 years and the end of this past summer the air just wouldn’t be cold. It would blow not hot air and the A/C light comes on and the fan works but it just won’t get really cold. I’m trying to sell it so I need to know what I need to do to fix this. I’ve read that it cold be I need to recharge the A/C adding some freon or something. Is this something I can do? My brother works at an auto shop so maybe it’s something he can fix. Let me know and about how much it would cost.

      For cost well depends if it just need coolant or is there leak and ask your bro.

      The compressor doesnt notice.

      The kit has guage and it will waste about 25 at dealer much more like 100 the dealer much you dont got to college.
      The dealer or body shop go to do thislol it is easy did it is easy did it is easy did it will show you how much you will waste about 25 at the kit and bottle on freon you got.
