Dirty BL asked:

Hello, I have these “old” Cleveland 56d and 60d…i’ve had them for..probably 3 years…and i do practice and play golf quite a bit..

I do get back spins, spins when I need, but I think my wedges are getting a little bit old…

so, should i get re-grooved my wedges at local golf shop or just buy new ones? thank you for your opinion.

I’d replace them. Clubs manufactured after January 1, 2010 are going to be subjected to new requirements related to grooves.

If you hold out on getting new wedges, by the time you’ve concluded that you can’t hold out any longer, the wedges you end up purchasing after the January deadline likely won’t have the same “zip” you cherish.

Of course manufacturers are inventive and certainly they’ll find new ways to overcome this challenge. Even still, my vote would be to buy replacements now.

It is for this reason that I did as well (Vokey 54 and 60).
