The high lofted wedges are the only club that the trailing edge will contact the surface (sand) before the leading edge and will cause the 'bounce' necessary to loft the ball out of the sand. You can pick up cheap wedges (5-20$) from most golf courses that sell used clubs that had been lost from the previous year.
